Attention Adult Summer Reading Walkers!
Today was going to kick off the Library’s summer of walking and talking about books, but unfortunately Mother Nature had other ideas! Due to this morning’s two hour downpour our first day of walking had to be canceled. The weather forecast for our next walk, which is this Thursday (6/11), is looking good so far, so join us then!
If you haven’t heard, this summer’s Adult Summer Reading Program will feature a morning walk on most Monday and Thursday mornings in June and July (check the library calendar). We’ll meet at the library entrance at 10:00 am, walk the library grounds for about 30 minutes while we talk about our summer reads, and finish up in the library garden for a water break, check-in, and a chance to pick out new books.
Each lap that you walk and each book that you read enter you in a drawing to win some fantastic prizes!
Those who wish to participate should pick up an information packet at the self-check, in the library’s lobby. Please bring back the waiver form, as well as the pink form on the first day you plan to walk. If you cannot or do not wish to participate in the walking portion of the program, you may join us during the second half of the program (10:30 – 11:00), in the Library Garden.
NOTE: If it is raining, storming, or above 90 degrees at 10:00 am, walking will be canceled for the day. But you may stop by the library lobby to report your books.
If you are looking for a great summer read to get your reading list started, check out what we’re reading! You can also try out the library’s new NoveList Database (a great way to explore books you might enjoy), or stop by the library’s Information Desk to get some personalized recommendations.
