The Greenburgh Public Library Board of Trustees has established an indoor air temperature policy in an effort to ensure a safe and comfortable environment in the Library for patrons and staff.
The policy states that in the summer, the public service areas in the Library must maintain a temperature of 82ºF or less. If a public service area in the Library achieves a temperature of over 82ºF for at least three hours the Library will close.
In the winter, public service areas must maintain a temperature of at least 65ºF. If a public service area achieves a temperature of less than 64ºF for at least two hours the Library will close.
The Library Director has the authority to close the Library should indoor temperatures reach extremes.
