It is never too early to start on handmade knitted holiday gifts for friends, family and acquaintances. Come to the library’s Knitter’s Knot program to help you get started.
There are thousands of free knitting patterns for the holidays on the Internet. Some of the knitting blogs with holiday ideas that I like are Knitculture, Knitpicks and Purlbee. My personal favorite is, Dish and Washcloth Mania, because I am addicted to knitting washcloths right now. I just finished four months of sock knitting and I am working my way up to lace knitting for the fall.
We are happy to help you learn to knit, offer advice if you are stuck on a project, or are looking for some friendly people to knit with. The group meets Thursdays from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the library. We skip the last Thursday of the month. Contact me via email at email@example.com or at 914.721.8232 if you have questions.
