Business and Job Services

 The Business/Finance and  Job Information Center is located on the second floor of the library.

For small businesses and start-ups the library’s collection of current books  provide information about writing business plans, developing marketing strategies, managing nonprofits, using social media, as well as retirement planning and financial literacy.

Job seekers can find material about  writing resumes and cover letters,  interviewing , learning/refining  job skills and test preparation study guides.

 The library  subscribes to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Westchester Business Journal, 914 Inc. Forbes, Fortune, The Chief/Civil Service Leader and other business publications. We also have information about local community resources that offer free business and job counseling services and programs.

For small business owners as well as job seekers the library offers access to ReferenceUSA  a business research database that  provides company information searchable by executive contacts, location, size etc.  Business Insights: Essentials  providing detailed company and industry news that includes profiles, company histories, brand information, rankings and investment reports, etc. and Morningstar a database which offers proprietary stock and mutual fund analysis, screening tools and portfolio-building features.

Library databases:  An online video library of courses taught by recognized industry experts for learning software, technology, creative and business skills to achieve personal and professional goals. and Learning Express which provides adult learners with educational resources—including more than 800 tutorials, practice exams, eBooks—workplace and career-related resources include tools for job searching, exploring new careers, computer and software courses and test preparation for occupational licensing exams.
