Last February Greenburgh resident and local filmmaker Anthony Desiato presented his award winning short documentary By Spoon! The Jay Meisel Story, here at the library. The documentary follows Jay, a bombastic, cranky, and irreverent comic book seller, who operated a booth at the Empire State Flea Market for nearly 40 years. The film documents Jay’s final days at his booth, after management has decided to close the market. The film was featured at the 2014 YoFi Fest in Yonkers, as well as at the Phoenix Comicon Film Festival (where it won best documentary!).
If you missed Anthony’s screening here at the library, his film is now available on the library’s new video streaming service IndieFlix!
