I remember a plane trip over the Rocky Mountains. Feeling a need to capture that moment I started taking pictures of the cloud-laden mountain tops outside.
Felt silly? yes
Awe-inspiring? Of course! My trip was eight years ago.
David Brooks in an Op-Ed piece for the New York Times described inspiration as:
“There’s a thrilling feeling of elevation, a burst of energy, an awareness of enlarged possibilities. The person in the grip of inspiration has received, as if by magic, some new perception, some holistic understanding, along with the feeling that she is capable of more than she thought…”
There’s magic, energy and motion in that moment you feel inspired to step outside your comfort zone and do something new.
