The art movement had a number of incarnations fueled by such fascinating artists as Rene Magritte, Max Ernst, Salvador Dali, and Leonora Carrington. We will explore how the visual power of Surrealist art can influence the mind and psychology in a profound way.

Librarian, Ms. Kate Colquitt had the opportunity to meet Salvador Dali in 1979 while she was studying art in Paris. The famous artist with his recognizable mustache and ever present walking cane in his later years stopped to inquire what I thought of the new exhibit being installed at the Centre’ De Pompidou. In my limited French I told him that it was extraordinary and bizarre. He chuckled and agreed with me before marching on with his entourage.
