New CD Releases at the Library

Check out new music at the Greenburgh Public Library…

For Pop Lovers…Check out new and exciting releases from some of your favorite artists such as Drake, The Weeknd, Kylie Minogue, and the Princess of Pop Ariana Grande! Out this month is the new album Scorpion by Drake featuring some of his hits “Non Stop”, “Emotionless” (written by Mariah Carey), “In My Feelings”, and “Don’t Matter to Me” featuring the one and only prince of pop, Michael Jackson. Out this month My Dear Melancholy, by The Weeknd, features the smash hit single “Call Out My Name”.  Other tracks on this album include “Try Me”, “Wasted Times”, and “I Was Never There” and “Hurt You” both featuring famed French techno artist Gesaffelstein. The long awaited album Sweetener by Ariana Grande is set to drop next month. Hit singles such as “The Light is Coming” (written by Pharrel Williams), and “No Tears Left To Cry”, will be featured on this album, including other new and exciting tracks such as “Rain Drops”, “R.E.M.”, and “God is a Woman”. Finally, Golden, the newest album release by Kylie Minogue will be at your disposal. This album features new tracks such as the smash hit “Golden (of the same title)”, “Dancing”, and “Stop Me From Falling”.

For Jazz/Blues Lovers…

Old but new to all of us is the album release of Both Directions at Once: The Lost Album, by world renowned Jazz artist John Coltrane. Recorded in 1963 with his classic quartet, and believed to be forever lost are the tracks “Nature Boy”, “Vilia” (and its many takes), and “Impressions”. Other tracks include “One Up, One Down”, “Slow Blues”, and many other untitled gems that have been longing to be heard by all for the past 55 years and counting. New from Kamasi Washington is the album Heaven and EarthTracks on the album include “Fists of Fury”, “Can You Hear Him”, “Hub-Tones”, and “Connections”. New this month from Joshua Redman is the album release Still Dreaming, paying homage to the band Old and New Dreams in which his father Dewey Redman played tenor saxophone.  This title will include tracks such as “New Year”, “Haze and Aspirations”, “Playing”, and “The Rest.”  The Dave Koz release Summer Horns II: From A To Z, features remakes of some of your favorite smash hits such as “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)”, “Late in the Evening (originally by Paul Simon)”, and “Conga (featuring and originally by Gloria Estefan).”  Finally, there is Nellie McKay’s new album Sister Orchid, featuring new tracks such as “My Romance”, “Angel Eyes”, and “The Nearness of You”, as well as the new album from modern blues man Fantastic Negrito, Please Don’t Be Dead

For World Music Lovers…

This month features some exciting Celtic themed releases by Celtic Thunder and Loreena McKennit, as well as some equally Latin themed releases by famed Puerto Rican musician Kany Garcia.  Celtic Thunder's album Celtic Thunder X features big name tracks “Sons of Light”, “Castle on the Hill”, “Toora Loora Lay” and “Right, Alright”.  Lost Souls, by Loreena McKennit features new and exciting tracks such as “Spanish Guitars and Night Plazas”, “A Hundred Wishes”, “Ages Past, Ages Hence”, and the smash hit “Lost Souls” of the same title. The album release Soy Yo, by Kany Garcia features many tracks such as smash hits like “Bailemos Un Blues”, “Para Siempre”, and “Soy Yo” of the same title.

For Soundtrack Lovers…

Check out the new album by Patti Lupone titled Don’t Monkey with Broadway.  Featured on this album are Lupone’s renditions of some favorite Broadway hits such as “Please Don’t Monkey with Broadway” of the same title, “Big Spender” “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina”, and finally “Give My Regards To Broadway.”  Jurassic Park fans?  Come check out the fun and exciting soundtrack album Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, inspired by the new hit film. Be sure to relive some of your favorite cinematic moments from the film with music composed by famed composer Michael Giacchino.

For New Age Music Lovers…

Check out the beautifully composed and orchestrated album titled Parisian Lounge, by famed composer David Arkenstone. Enjoy some of the beautiful tracks, such as “Last Tango in Paris”, “I Will Wait For You (from the famed criterion motion picture masterpiece, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg), “Light Cruise” and finally “Rain on The Scene”.

For Classical/Chamber/Concerto Music Lovers…

Check out some of the new and exciting releases by Philippe Jaroussky, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, and Daniel Lozakovich. Tracks featured on Jaroussky’s new album titled Gluck: Orfeo Ed Euridice, are the famed “Sinfonia-Allegro Con Moto”, “Basta, Basta o Compagni”, and “Che Disse? Che Ascoltai?” Tracks featured on Kanneh-Mason’s new album Inspiration, are his renditions of famed titles such as “Evening of Roses”, “Song of the Birds”, and “Le Carnival Des Animaux”.  Finally, be sure not to miss, Bach: Violin Concertos No. 1 & No.2/Partita No.2, the newest album release by Daniel Lozakovich.  In it are included some of his renditions of favorite Bach classics such as “Violin Concerto No.1”, Violin Concerto No.2”, and lastly “Partita for Solo Violin No. 2.”
